David Wallace Cantrell, age 45, passed away on June 6, 2025. He was born on March 23, 1980 in Charlotte, NC.
David grew up in Belmont, NC, and attended South Point High School. From there, he served in the Army for 4 years before being medically discharged. Throughout the years, he learned many new skills, made new friends, found and lost love , made life decisions some good, some bad, some of them still have us asking “but why?". Davie was a big goofball with a big heart who loved being goofy and trying to make others smile. He was a devoted son and brother, he was loved more than he chose to believe or even realize, as a friend, he was there when you called.
Gone before him are his parents, David and Charlotte Rhodes, his late wife of 5 years, Meghann Cantrell (2020-2024), fiancé, Lindsey Alger (2025), along with his cousin, Richard Kelly, grandparents and several uncles.
He is survived by his sisters, Kimberly Cruz and Jennifer Etters (Joey), 4 nieces and nephews; Halie Grigg (Tyler), Wesley Etters, Elijah Cruz (fiancé Madisan) and Kyia Cruz; along with 2 great nephews, Waylon, and Jaxtyn. As well as his stepchildren with Meghann; Lexi Smith, Josh Smith, Alona Fredrick , and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
