Debra Swope

With heavy hearts, we share the news of the sudden passing of our beloved Deb on March 29, 2025 here in Mcconnells, SC. A woman whose loving, giving, and caring spirit touched countless lives, Deb was a devoted follower of God with unwavering faith. Born in Dade City to A.J. and Barbara Smith on January 15,1964, she was raised in Land O' Lakes, Florida. Her greatest joy was her family. She was the proud mother of two beautiful daughters, April and Alisha, and the adoring grandmother of "Baby Girl" Haylie. Deb was a successful businesswoman who contributed to the prosperity of many. She embraced her roles as a wonderful wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and a cherished in-law, showering everyone with her love.

Deb's deep affection for animals was well-known, especially her three loyal dogs who were her constant companions. She also lovingly cared for her four pet chickens and two playful cats. In 2018, Deb and her husband Bill moved to South Carolina to selflessly care for his parents, providing tireless support and ensuring their peaceful passing at home.

Following their passing, Deb returned to Florida to lovingly care for her ailing father until his passing at home as well. Deb will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jesse; Brother-in-law George Rivera, and Father A.J.

She is survived by her mother Barb; brother, David and his wife Sandy; sister, Kathy and her husband Ricky; nieces, Teresa and Jennifer, and nephews David, Eric and Alex.

Husband, William Swope “Bill”; brother-in-law, Joe; stepdaughters, Tori, Maegan and Chelsea with their significant others Turner, Wally and Rossi. Deb shared her love with all six of Bill's grandchildren.

There will not be a memorial service in Mcconnells, and her ashes will be shared by family. Please contact her family about services in Florida.
