Loving Memory of Elizabeth "Beth" Stone Fields
Elizabeth "Beth" Stone Fields, beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025, at the age of 67, surrounded by her family. She was born on December 12, 1957, in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina and spent her childhood in Pineville, North
Throughout her life, Beth was known for her unwavering faith, which served as a foundation for her actions and decisions. She demonstrated compassion, care, and acceptance toward everyone she encountered, always ready to offer a kind word or a helping hand. She had a brand of dry humor unique to her, loved by her daughters in particular.
Beth's career as a Cafeteria Operator in the Clover School District was marked by her steadfast dedication. She believed in treating every student with fairness and compassion, regardless of the challenges they faced. Beth often ensured that students received a proper meal, even if they were unable to pay, reflecting her deep commitment to kindness and equality. Her strong work ethic and independence were two things she prided herself on, and she instilled and embodied these traits in all aspects of her life.
Beth found happiness in a variety of hobbies that showcased her creativity, compassion and love for others. She delighted in cooking, especially during the holidays, when her peanut butter cookies became a family favorite. She was very resourceful, and could turn even the simplest ingredients into memorable meals, always making every gathering special. She was an avid fan of Hell's Kitchen, and watched it almost every day (she recreated several dishes that would have made Gordon proud). Her caring nature extended to the outdoors, where she enjoyed bird watching and made sure to feed birds during the winter months so they had nourishment even when food was scarce. Beth's thoughtful care encompassed all creatures. She lovingly tended to her two cats and numerous strays. Prior to her illness, she cultivated a vegetable garden every year including tomatoes, cucumbers, and hot peppers. One of her favorite places was the beach; specifically, Myrtle Beach. Traveling to the beach with her daughters and creating cherished memories together by the ocean brought her joy.
Beth is survived by her two daughters, Emily Fields and Kimberly Fields, and her two brothers, Jim Stone and Eddy Stone. She is also remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Beth was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Emma Stone and J.P. Stone, and her dear sister Cindy Stone. Her love, kindness, and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
