Floree Crawford Edwards

Floree was born in York, SC on September 3, 1932, to Jim and Bessie Cole Crawford. She passed away on December 2, 2023, at Summerstone Health & Rehabilitation Center in Kernersville, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Rodney A. Edwards and two grandsons-Corey and P'Rogio Smith.

As a teenager, Floree met the love of her life at Wilson Chapel Church when he was smart enough to give the most beautiful girl a nickel to put in the collection plate. They married soon after and established a life in Thomasville, NC with the marriage bearing five children. Later they settled in Winston-Salem, NC for work and new opportunities

Mrs. Edwards retired from Douglas Battery after many years of dedicated service. During her retirement she was able to cook for all that entered her home, spoil her grandchildren, and visit and share the Gospel with anyone who would listen. A true Woman of God who spoke often of her friend, Jesus. She was a devoted mother to four surviving children: one son, James Allen Edwards of Charlotte, NC; three daughters, Peggy Turner, Sandra Greene (Carl), Veronica Wolfe (Jerrold) all of Winston-Salem, NC; one brother, Johnnie Crawford (Lillie) of York, SC. Seven Grandchildren: Tony Edwards, Dwayne Smith, Candace Edwards, Jihad Edwards, Christopher Edwards, Cameron Pelzer and Courtney Pelzer, Nineteen Great-Grandchildren and a great number of nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.

This number does not in any way reflect the number of neighborhood children that affectionately called Mrs. Edwards "Grandma" and the many, many friends that will miss Mrs. E.

Mrs. Floree Crawford Edwards 91, will have a public viewing on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 6-8p at Word of Truth in Winston- Salem, NC. A public viewing on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 3-7p at Faith Funeral Service. Her funeral service will be 2p Saturday, December 9, 2023 at St. John Baptist Church in Sharon, SC, her burial will follow to the church's cemetery.
