Larry Keith Carswell

Mr. Larry Keith Carswell, born September 21, 1959, passed away at his home on March 4, 2024 of natural causes. Keith is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Carswell and Betty Sue Boyd Carswell of Fort Mill, SC. He is survived by his sister, Connie Gould of Charlotte, NC; his brother, Eddie Carswell and Eddie's wife, Melodie of Waxhaw, NC; his sister Janet Carswell of Lake Wylie, SC; and his brother Glenn Carswell and Glenn's wife, Kathy of Columbia, SC. In addition, Keith is survived by his nephews Andrew Lylerly of San Antonio, TX and Peter Lylerly of Felton, DE as well as his niece, Nina Cardwell and her husband, Adam of Columbia, MD. He is also survived by his nieces Emily Carswell and Katie Carswell of Columbia, SC and his nephew, Bryson Carswell of Lake Wylie, SC as well as three grand nephews: Colin, Owen, and Sebastian Cardwell of Columbia, MD. 

Keith was fun loving and loved to travel and meet people. A voracious reader, he completed the entire Encyclopedia Britannica series when he was 10 years old. He was extraordinarily funny, with some commenting he gave Robin Williams a run for his money. He was kind and loyal with a sweet soul, and everyone who met him loved him.

Keith was exceptionally bright, having graduated as Valedictorian of Fort Mill Jr. High School. He graduated from Fort Mill High School in 1979, and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Winthrop University in 1984. He retired from CSI in 2011. He was a lifelong member of Flint Hill Baptist Church and was a fervent follower of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. 

Keith was devoted to his family and friends and will be sorely missed. May God rest and bless his sweet soul.

The family will hold a private Celebration of Life ceremony at the home of his sister on April 20, 2024 in Lake Wylie.
