Linda Kay Coleman, 80, passed away on February 1, 2026. Born in the beautiful mountains of Bryson City, NC, on November 20, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Alice Gibby Smith and Grady Underdown.
A woman with a servant's heart, Linda spent many years working as a home health aide, providing care and comfort to those in need. While she was small in stature, Linda's presence was anything but-she was known for a huge smile and a big, hearty laugh that could light up any room.
Linda found happiness in life's simple moments: a competitive game of Solitaire, the excitement of a scratch-off ticket, or settling in for a good movie. She also shared a special, deep bond with her beloved dog, Priscilla.
Above all else, Linda loved "her boys." She was immensely proud of the men they became and the lives they built. Affectionately known as "Mema" to her grandchildren and "Ms. Linda" to almost everyone else, she leaves behind a legacy of warmth and devotion.
She is survived by her sons, Tracey Martin (Robbie) of Rock Hill and Christopher Martin (Wendy) of Concord; five grandchildren, Zachery, Justin, Abby, Stephanie, and Grayson; and eight great-grandchildren. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, four brothers, and her son, Donnie Jones.
"Gone from our sight, never from our hearts."
