Ms. Marilyn Irene Moore, age 80, of York, SC passed away peacefully at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill on 11 April 2026. Born 17 November 1945 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Marilyn was the oldest of four children. She grew up between Decatur, Illinois and Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and went on to build a life centered around family, resilience and independence.She was a daughter, wife, mother, and a proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also a dear sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to many who will deeply miss her presence. Marilyn a strong-spirited woman with a fiercely independent nature, valued her freedom and lived life on her own terms through out all of her years. She was known for her strength, warmth, humor, generosity, and she touched the lives of those around her with her.
In addition to her family, she found joy in talking to people, through phone, internet even talking on the c.b. Radio , gardening, cooking, traveling. She will be remembered always for her strength, her independence, and the deep love she held for her family. Her legacy will live on in all who knew and loved her. She is reunited in eternity with her sons, Rick Sieg and Donnie Toole and brothers, Larry Houg and Bobby Houg.
She will forever be loved and remembered by her son, Ron (Tanja) Toole and daughter, Sherri (Claud) Bailes; her sister who she loved and adored, Barbara (Terry) Grosvenor; sister-in-law, Sharon Houg; grandchildren, Jennifer, Crystal, Trevor, Monica, Nikki , Stephanie , Ryan, and Rose; great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Serenity, Brycen, Jo-Jo, Mason , Houston, Harden, Whitney, Nevaeh, & one on the way. A host of loving relatives and close friends.
A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 1:00p at her daughter's home 1475 Garvin Road York, SC, family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice Community, in her memory.
